Oooops and a plug for Bridgey

Ok, have just had an email from Susan over at Scrap the Boys. She has pushed back the mid December challenge to January (see my post below) so it will not be due until January 31st. I'm going to leave the post up to give you a head start, goodness knows everyone struggles for time to scrap what with chrissie, school holidays and back to school. Would love to see you participate.

On onto some goodies. Here is the latest kit from The Polkadot Place. I have mine already and Bridgette has outdone herself again. Now I just have to find the time to scrap - Sigh......... it is just too busy at this time of year. Thinking I may just pack up some scrapping to take to Yamba, might need it to help occupy me while it is raining.

So go and grab yours now, think she only has one or two left.
I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself today, after many months I sent in some layouts to the mags and had 2 accepted. Yay for me!!!!! Hopefully it will give me some motivation to get scrapping again.
Anyways, I would love to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Thanks for stopping by and leaving me some lovely comments. I can't wait until things slow down and I can get scrapping again. See you all in the new year.

December Scrap the Boys Challenge

Well it is that time again. This month I got the brief to do the mid-month challenge - bling up your boy pages!!!!!! For those of you who know me well know that I do not do bling, I do not do glitter AT ALL, ever, nada. So of course I procrastinated before I went away then got home yesterday (when it was due) procrastinated a bit more, got a few papers out, went to the Bon Jovi concert (more about that later) and got up this morning and pumped this one out. I have used glitter stickers, there is glitter on the paper and I have used some Prima bling. So I think I have just about covered it. Tough one but I got there.

The other challenge this month is inspired from Santa's reindeers, well their names anyway. So get out your photo's of your boys strutting their stuff either in general or on the dance floor, and scrap whether he is a dancer or a prancer.
I shall post some photos from the Bon Jovi concert as soon as I work out how to upload them from my camera.

Polkadot place giveaway

How's this for a nice little stash.

I was thinking it would be nice to win it and scrap some of my photos from Europe. Anyways if you want a chance to win pop over to the Polkadot Place and enter. While you are there check out the kits, I think they are just about all gone so you better be quick. Mine arrived on Friday and I can't wait to get into it.

Two posts in one day - not sure what is going on.

November Scrap the Boys Challenge

Hi all, I am a tad late with this one, I had a disaster with the previous layout and spilt a bottle of paint over it. Oops!!!!! The hazards of being a scrapbooker. This layout is for challenge #2 at Scrap the boys which is sponsored by 2 crafty. We were sent a lovely range of chipboard and the tractor and tree was just perfect for this layout. Mum and Dad live on 3 and a half acres in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Blake loves riding around on Grandad's tractor, have a look at his face, he is pretty proud of himself.

Anyways make sure you pop over to Scrap the Boys and complete the challenges this month. The sponsors are Lil' Red Rocket, What is Old is New and 2 Crafty, so the prizes guarantee to be fabulous.

No news on the scrapping front, but hoping to get into it this week.

Only one week to go

until we leave for our trip to Europe. OMGoodness, how quick has that come around. We have so much to do, Ashley's mum arrives on Wednesday, she is looking after the kids and the house for us while we are away. So I am madly running around cleaning the house, making lists, trying to remember if I've forgotten anything. Sooooooo excited.

Anyways, I will try and blog while I am away, Ash will be on a course for three days while we are in Paris so will have the nights to do some posts. Pop in, I'm not promising too much but it would be great to get the trip down each day on my blog.

No scrapping here, I have been too busy but I would love to squeeze in a layout before I go.

Paper Poppy have done it again

This month's kit is absolutely gorgeous. It is really straying away from the colours I usually use but I loved it anyway. Guess I shall be a bit challenged when I get it but that is a good thing right????? I guess these layouts are gonna involve a lot of procrastinating but I can't wait to get stuck into it.

Main Kit

Some close-ups

and the add-on
I love the dollar exchange with the States right now. Makes it worthwhile to buy these kits from over there, even taking postage into account.

A very successful scrapping holiday

I packed up some scrap stuff to take on holidays, normally I would get nothing done but this time I went with my friend Charmaine who also scraps - YAY!!!!!!!! So we had a couple of late ones after the kids had gone to sleep and this is what I came up with.

This is my gorgeous girl on the right and her friend Paige at a dance comp. How cute are their costumes? Anyways I used stuff from September's Paper Poppy Kit and added some extra bits and came up with this -

Yep that is pink crepe paper, I would never have thought to use it but it was in the kit, Aphra you are so clever. Oh and I LOVE the new Sass Indie Girl Range, so gorgeous.
And another one, this time this her team, they are called Nine Minute Noodles, cute huh???? The are a great bunch of girls, Miss Megs has had an awesome year dancing with these girls
and last but not least a layout of my little man. We just got his school photos so thought I would get this one scrapped and put away. And the layout features a few of my faves, October Afternoon, Jillibean Soup, Cosmo Cricket and the cute little green ladybird is My Little Bit of Whimsy

Thanks for stopping by.

Trick or treat

Yeah I know I'm away on hols with no computer but I cheated. I did this post before I left just so I could upload it from my iphone. The new challenge is up over at Scrap the Boys, head over and have a play. This is my layout

and a close-up with a bit of doodling and some yummy studio calico adhesive material strips. So easy to pleat and add some dimension to you layouts.

Anyways, hope you are all enjoying the school hols.

On holidays

Hi all,

Just thought I would pop in and let you know I am going to be AWOL for a few weeks. The kids and I are heading off to Pottsville for 12 days, unfortunately Ash will be at home, he is too busy to take any time off work. So we are taking the caravan and staying in the park right on Mooball Creek. In the photo below it is right on the creek just to the right of the bridge.

and here is the view from the park.

It is the most gorgeous place, only an hour and a half away on the very Northern Coast of NSW. The forecast is for rain this coming week so hopefully it won't be too bad. We might be sitting in the annex playing board games all week.
The last weekend of the school hols Ash and I are off to Sydney for the NRL Grand Final, hopefully the Titans will be there and we'll have someone to cheer for. It's a great night out regardless, we get to be in a box so it's luxury all the way.
Anyways, see you all when we get back.

What did you call me?

The first challenge for September is up over at Scrap the Boys. The brief is to complete a layout on your boys nickname and how it came about and here is my interpretation -

I love these little Carolee's Creations alphas, they are great for this sort of journalling and so cheap at about $2.00 a sheet. I still have heaps left over too. We were supplied with some Darkroom door papers and montages as well which I have included in my layout along with some October Afternoon and the little birdie pin is My little bit of Whimsy.

I love the challenge again this month, make sure you pop over and join in.

My awesome husband

For those of you who follow me on facebook, you may remember me saying how awesome my husband is. Because our computer has been so bad for ages I haven't blogged a lot of personal stuff like my milestone birthday I just had in July, I turned 39 again this year and will be 38 next year, decided I am now counting backwards, think I might stop when I turn 30 and stay that way forever. Once I get access to my corrupted hard drive I will post some photos I promise.

Anyways, Ash took me out for dinner at Sirromet winery the night before my birthday, just us two, it was so lovely. The food was amazing. He was carrying around a white box with a ribbon which looked suspiciously like a lingerie box. You're kidding!!!!!!! As far as I am concerned that is not a pressie for me, that is for him. So over dessert he asked if I wanted to open my pressie. My immediate reaction was - "is it appropriate to open that here?" LOL, well when I opened it I got the hugest surprise. He had some books and tourist brochures on Paris. PARIS!!!!!! PARIS!!!!!!!!! Can you tell I am excited!!!!!!

So I haven't said too much to anyone, cause we still had to work out the logistics of it all. Ash has a course in Paris for 4 days so took the opportunity to tack on my flight and take some holidays. We have finalized our itinerary, Ash's mum is coming up to have the kids and we are all booked. It will all be happening late October. This is a very huge year for us, my 40th, our 20th wedding anniversary (in September), what an awesome way to celebrate.

So this is what we are doing, nine nights here -

where we have rented an apartment right smack bang in the middle of the Latin Quarter. Then off to Rome for three days -

then we are taking the train to Venice where we are spending two nights. I am so in love with the idea of Venice, have always wanted to go there.

We hop on an early morning bus and go up through the Alps to Villach where we change to a train and go to Salzburg where we have treated ourselves to five star in this beautiful hotel.

And you are asking yourself why Salzburg???? Of course to do the Sound of Music Tour. Daggy???? Nope not for me. To me that movie is on the same list as Grease, Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, I could watch it over and over again. I know we will probably get back to Europe one day but not close enough to this area to do this tour. This is one on my bucket list.

Then over to Vienna, where we have three nights. It's gonna be freezing, about max 8 degrees each day, a small chance of snow. A couple of days of wandering along the Danube, I love the architecture in Austria, it is by far my favourite in Europe.

Then home, and did I happen to mention we are flying BUSINESSS CLASS. I'm a bit excited about this one because I'm not a super good flyer, I am getting better but am still very nervous. Think I might be investing in some Valium or something for the flight.

So if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. Especially must see's in Vienna, that is the only part of the trip we haven't researched too much.

Ok, I am off to get out my scissors, paper, glue, must get my September layout done for Scrap the Boys. Have you all got your entries in this month, still a few days to go.

I'm back in the land of the living

Ok I went and bit the bullet today and bought a new lappie. AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!!!! I still have to get my hard drive back to be able to access all our photos and emails etc so I am only half organised but at least I have access to the internet. As far as our old computer is concerned we are still not sure if it is fixable, my big bro is doing it in his spare time which means he won't be able to get back to it until the weekend.

Anyways, just thought I would pop in and let you all know I am back.

Who likes a bit of whimsy?

If you've never had the pleasure of visiting my little bit of whimsy go over and have a look. Steph makes the most gorgeous pins and buttons. She is having a giveaway at the moment too. Hee hee, I have a little bit of an addiction to this place.

RIP my faithful computer

I think the time has come to bury my trusty friend. It has finally frozen completely and has gone on a holiday to my big bro's house to see if it is fixable. I am thinking not, lucky everything is backed up. So I won't be around much, just occasionally when I am at work until we decide on what we are doing for a new computer.

As far as scrapping goes, I'll have to go and drag out some of my old pre-digital photos. They are sitting in a box screaming to be scrapped so I might have to get organised and scrap some old photos. They are terrible, but the memories are still there.

Catch you later.

Some Happy Mail

came last week for me from the very lovely Miss Sandra Gerdes. She sent me the most awesome bag of hand dyed doilies. Of course I couldn't help myself and ripped open the packet and started creating. I can't wait to use some of the gorgeous coloured ones. You can get them from her Pretties Etc shop or from the Scrapping Outback shop.

I love this photo of my gorgeous girl, this was taken just before one of her hip hop comps.

Can you believe I actually got out some of my mists and used them. The jury is still out on these, I love the layout but still not sure of the sprayed effect. I'm sure it will grow on me.

Can you believe it, two posts in one day. Have to get my computer fix while it is in a good mood - LOL!!!!

xx Deb

PS. I matted the photo just for you Georgia Keays - LOL!!!!!!

Some new Paper Poppy

Well I have been so good lately, I really haven't spent too much at all on anything scrapbooking related for two months so I rewarded myself with the new Paper Poppy kit. How gorgeous is it???? Full of some Cosmo, Pink Paislee and Jillibean Soup, mmmmm mmmmm, three of my fave manufacturers.

and seeing as the dollar exchange is so good I also got the July kit.

There are some great add-ons you can buy with both kits, if you are looking for an awesome jam-packed kit to buy, Aphra does great kits.
I have completed a few layouts, unfortunately I can't show too many as they were completed for specific things and as we're still having computer probs I am having trouble uploading my photos - grrrrrrrr. I'll try later again today.

New Challenge at Scrap the Boys

The first challenge at Scrap the Boys for August is to scrap a layout using flowers …to make it a little easier you can include a photo of you and your boy/s… Or if you can’t come at flowers …scrap about their feminine sides… or if you are feeling very clever… use both criteria.
Here is my layout -

Wow, love this challenge. I do use flowers on my boy layouts, but usually just one or two discreet ones. So I went all out and used a flower cluster, but balanced it off with some corrugated cardboard and some boy papers. I love the finished product, now I would love to see some of your layouts!!!!!
Hope you are all having a fabulous day

Next challenge at Scrap the Boys

The next challenge is up over at Scrap the Boys.

and this is my version -

so go on, get those stamps out and use them. I have been awfully slack and mine have been sitting on my shelf unused for ages.
If you like those circle stamps I have used as a background you can get them from Scrapping Outback. They are Rachelle's designs and she has them manufactured herself so you can't get them anywhere else.
Hope to see lots of entries for this challenge. Have a lovely day.
