Sorry a long post, what an awesome weekend

So I headed off on Saturday to Toowoomba to have a scrappy night of fun with these gorgeous girls, (oops just realised Belinda Lowe is missing). Leanne J was so lovely to have us all at her house. We laughed and scrapped and talked and scrapped, and laughed some more. The talent of all these ladies is amazing. I got so many ideas, I think it has given me a much needed boost for my scrapping after I have been feeling a bit blah over everthing I do at the moment.

Now the reason for the get-together was Gilly (in the middle in the green shirt) flew up from Sydney to see her friend Renee, so they thought they would have some scrapping time as well. In the photo L-R me, Leanne J, Tracey St Johnwood, Kim Jeffress, Gilly Lester, Renee, Lisa Amiet and Geli Duncan

and this is the wall of talent, some absolutely stunning layouts up there.

I got two layouts finished in amongst all the laughter and one almost finished. The sewing machine did not want to play nicely so I packed it up and bought the third home to finish. I wish I had of taken some more photos, I think I would have got a lot more layouts done. Anyways this layout was done using last month's Storyboard Kit with a few extras added. Miss Megs started Middle School (Year 7) this year with a change of campus, a change of uniform and a few nerves. She had a fabulous first day and is still loving it. Lots of gorgeous prima flowers, butterflies and swirly bling on the page. Loving it big time.

and a closeup of all that Prima goodness

This layout I did for The Boxx fortnightly challenge. The criteria is to use the word Love, Red and Lace on your layout. And this is what I came up with -

I used lots of goodies from this month's Polkadot Place kit, should have done some closeups, will try and get back with them later. By the way I LOVED this kit, so versatile and full of pretty things.

Ok, well I must go and cook some dinner, the kids are nagging me big time.

Thanks for dropping by.

Scrap the Boys will be back in March

Ok, just giving you all the heads up, Scrap the Boys will be up and running again in March. Here is a sneaky of my layout, if you look closely it might give you a clue of what the challenge will be.

Oh and yes I scrapped again. I have another layout in mind too, maybe I can pull out two in one day, I am finally back in the mood to scrap - YAY. I have missed it so and am still struggling to come up with ideas, but at least I feel like scrapping.
Hopefully I will be back again soon with a layout to show you.

The mojo has returned

Well the hubby is away in Melbourne and the kids are on camp so I got to sit down this morning and scrap, for no reason, just because. And I pulled out a landscape which I NEVER do. These photos were taken on our trip to Europe late last year. We did a day trip to Giverny to see Claude Monet's garden. Unfortunately the flowers were all finished but it was just as stunning in autumn with all the trees turning.

So anyways, I started with an idea and this is where it took me, nothing like my original thoughts on how this layout was going to turn out but that's ok. I love that about scrapping, the creative process just tends to take over and Voila!!!

Most of the layout is made up from the December kit from the Polkadot Place with a few Lily Bee scraps and Prima leaves thrown in. I love the handmade flower that Bridge included in the kit.

and a close-up -

Last night while I had a quiet house I took the opportunity to go and see No Strings Attached with Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman. Not sure what the reviews said but this is seriously funny. Don't take your daughters, this is strictly Rated M 15+. My friend Tash went with me and we did it in class, Gold Class which was a bit decadent but sooooo nice. I could definately get used to it.
Ok it is lunchtime and I must go and clean up and get organised. Have to pick the kidlets up with all their camp gear this arvo which means lots of washing - sigh........ well at least I have had a nice break.
Take care

Scrapboxx February Sketch Challenge

After a break from scrapping for a month, I thought I would get stuck into this months Boxx Sketch Challenge. Julie Winks has done a fab sketch, I don't know that I have done it justice, but I guess I am at least glad I actually got a layout scrapped and in only 1 hour. Bonus, I can procrastinate on a page for a week sometimes.

Anyways here is the sketch

and here is my take on it.

The journalling reads - one beer, two anzac bickies and a carrot FOR SANTA and his reindeer.

Yay I scrapped, really pretty pleased with myself, I thought I may have forgotten how.

Thanks for stopping by.
