Meeting some new girls

We are so lucky to have a fantastic Scrapbooking Expo in Brissie every June Queen's birthday long weekend. Girls travel from all over Australia to come, they always have fab teachers and classes and it so nice to meet scrapper's that I talk to online and catch up with those ladies I only get to see once a year or so.

I got there really early on Saturday morning and first up I had Louise Nelson's class. We did a double layout, of course I didn't finish it, but the reason I took the class was to learn some of Lou's awesome techniques. She is one of my fave scrappers and does some awesome art inspired layouts. So not me, but I am going to push myself a bit harder to use some more mixed media on my layouts.

I had a quick look around and met up with these lovely ladies from The Boxx -

Leanne Jago, Belinda Lowe (BB), Mary Bennetts, Annette Edmonds, Kim Ewins and Noelene Fairweather. I have spent a weekend scrapping with Leanne and Belinda, but it was lovely to meet the three girls from Orange, NSW and Noelene. OMGoodness, Mary, Annette and Kim were so lovely and exactly as I pictured them. What a hoot!!!!! I so wish they lived closer, these girls are so much fun, I would love to spend some scrappy time with them.

Elise came in in the arvo and we caught up for afternoon tea with the girls again and Donna from Rocky and shared all our purchases for the day.

Then it was back to the Mantra to meet up with Lauren Boase, Kat Glossop, Nic Pomeroy, Georgia Keays, Tatum Woodrooffe, Nat May, Lou Nelson and Sonia Thommasen. We all headed down to South Bank for a quick feed of Mexican then a coffee and dessert.
It was so lovely catching up with everyone again, these girls are all so awesome. I wish we all lived closer.

Who has a tween that loves High School Musical?

I know I do!!!! We have watched all three DVD's so many times I think they are almost worn out.

So the next instalment is Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, just watched the youtube clip and it looks great, lots of pink frothy dresses, lots of Sharpay attitude and Miss Megs would like it NOW please. It is due for release at the end of June but if you would like to win a copy head over to Lisa Warren's blog and leave a comment to be in with a chance.

A Lil' Something

Do you have boys and struggle to find suitable embellishments? Then pop on over here and check out what these two lovely ladies have been doing -

Their next release will be available Sat 28th 19:30AEST… go and check out their blog to find out how it all works. And if you spread the word you can win a pack of their goodies.

Good luck everyone!!!!!

My Scraproom Rules

Because I really haven't been scrapping much at all I thought I would get involved in a comp to try and get me motivated again.

Scrapping Outback are running one at present called My Scraproom Rules, so I joined in. The first challenge asked for us to do lots of fussy cutting, distressing, use some chipboard and cut it up and hand make at least three flowers.

Talk about way out of my comfort zone, I do not make flowers, couldn't be bothered. I would rather rip open a packet of gorgeous Prima. I do not fussy cut, don't have the patience. So this whole challenge was a doozy for me. Needless to say I procrastinated big time, started last night and finally uploaded at 11.40pm with 20 minutes to spare. Talk about cutting it fine.

Anyways, here is my layout -

And lots of close-ups

Yep I handcut all those postage stamps. I have no idea what I was thinking, that was lots of fun (NOT!!!!).

So it's all over and done with and I'm happy with the end result, even though it is totally not my style.

The next challenge set by Trudi Harrison is up so head over and check it out.
