The most awesome weekend

Well I talked, laughed, shopped, cried, did a few classes, laughed some more. They say laughter is good for the soul, well mine is all rejuvenated and happy now. I spent the weekend at the Scrapbook Expo at the Brisbane Convention Centre and stayed with the most awesome three girls, Bridge, Tatum and Lauren at the Mantra. We met up with a heap of girls that I have met previously or know from online. It's amazing how a bunch of girls that have never actually met in real life can get along so well. This is the crew I went out to dinner with on Saturday night - Kathleen Glossop, Bridgette Hatton, Lauren Boase, Peg Hewitt, Georgia Keays, Lou Nelson, Sonia Thomason, Me and Tatum Woodroffe.
What a scream, I think I only got about 3 hours sleep Sat night, then backed up with another talk fest on Sunday night again. Only five hours sleep over two nights just about killed me, I swear I am getting too old - LOL.
I did two great classes on Sunday - with Sarah Gladman and Angela Peardon. They were heaps of fun and we got a pile of stuff in our class kits. Aaaaahhhhh after Ash being away so much it was just the break I needed. I'll definately be going back again next year, we are so lucky to have such a great event in Brissie.

I'm back

and so is my mojo. I was sort of stuck for some inspiration so I headed over to Scrapability Sketches and took part in some challenges. This LO was for Lisa's sketch challenge, awesome sketch Lis, I really enjoyed doing this one. and some close ups -

I used the background from the new Jillibean soup corrugated alphas and backed it with some yummy Jillibean soup paper. Then I just outlined them with pen, came up a treat. The apple is from an old set when I first started scrapbooking about 6 years ago. I had it chucked in my huge stash and thought it would work perfect on this page. What a great feeling of satisfaction to use up some old bits and pieces.

And this layout was for Bossy Bek's challenge. The brief was to make your own printed paper. This was an old technique I learnt years ago from Rachelle Minett. I used walnut ink and salt to achieve this effect. A perfect heritage or beachy look.

Those chippie seashells are available from Scrapping Outback as well as most of these gorgeous Prima flowers. The bottle top and tag is from Lil Red Rocket How cute are these???? I'm gonna go and buy me some more of them soon.

I'm glad I have my mojo back, was missing it dearly. I think it may have something to do with having far too much stuff and not knowing where to start. I find if I can give myself a starting point like a sketch or some sort of brief it gives me some focus.

I'm counting down the days now until the Scrapbooking Expo. I'm picking Bridge up from the airport Friday night then we are heading in to town on Saturday morning and staying at the Mantra for 2 nights. Aaaaahhhhhh bliss, no kids, no husband and some great girls with a shared passion. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

New Paper Poppy Kit for June

Woweeeeee, have a look at the gorgeous stuff in here -

This is the new Paper Poppy kit for June and the add-on. These are awfully good value, even with the exchange rate and the postage. Mine is ordered and shall be winging it's way to me very soon I hope. I just love these colours, I think Lily Bee might be joining my fave manufacturer's list.

Hope you are all having a lovely day, it is so cold here, the wind is freezing. Very strange for us Queenslanders, though if you can find a spot in the sun and out of the wind it is beautiful.

Less than two weeks until the Scrapbooking Expo in Brissie. I can't wait, I am staying in town with my friends Bridge, Tatum and Lauren. We are gonna have so much fun. If you see me, please stop me and say hello.
